Delete your account

This page explains how to permanently delete your Built For The Badge account and what happens to your data when you do. Built For The Badge is developed and operated by Built For The Badge.

Deleting your account is permanent. It cannot be undone, and we cannot restore your training history, assessment scores, or any other data afterwards.

How to delete your account

Option 1 — In the app

If you can still sign in, you can delete your account yourself at any time:

1. Open the Built For The Badge app and sign in.
2. Tap Profile in the bottom navigation.
3. Tap Settings and account.
4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
5. Confirm when asked. Your account and data are deleted immediately.

Option 2 — By email

If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to your account, or would rather we handle it, email builtforthebadge@gmail.com from the email address on your account, with the subject line Delete my account.

We will confirm your identity, delete the account, and reply to confirm it is done. We complete these requests within 30 days of receiving them, and usually much sooner. If you cannot email us from the address on the account, say so in your message and we will work out another way to verify it is you.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes your sign-in credentials and the data tied to them, including:

• Your profile — name, display name, username, photo, career goal, state, and department.
• Health and cycle data — menstrual cycle tracking and symptom logs are deleted in full.
• Training history — workouts, exercise logs, program enrollments, completed sessions, benchmarks, and strength records.
• Readiness assessments — every assessment you have taken and every score.
• Recovery and check-in data — sleep, soreness, stress, and daily readiness check-ins.
• Career data — saved jobs, job alert preferences, hiring-pipeline applications, certifications, and study progress.
• Community activity — your posts, replies, and upvotes are deleted outright, not anonymized. They are removed from any thread they appear in.
• Mentorship — mentorship requests you sent. If you are a listed mentor, your mentor profile is removed from the directory along with any requests sent to you.
• Achievements, XP and streaks, crew memberships, challenge enrollments, notifications, and push notification tokens.
• AI coach history — your conversations and usage records.
• Subscription records held in our database.

What is kept, and for how long

A small amount of data survives account deletion. In each case it no longer identifies you:

• Anonymized usage analytics. Records of app events — which screens were opened, which features were used — are kept with the link to your account removed. They contain no name, email, or contact details and cannot be traced back to you. Retained for up to 24 months, then deleted.
• Payment records held by our payment processor. Stripe retains transaction records independently of us, for the period required by tax and financial regulations — typically 7 years. We cannot delete records held by Stripe on their own legal basis. Our own copy of your subscription is deleted with your account.
• Content you reported or submitted about the product — bug reports and exercise issue reports — is kept so we can act on the problem, with your account link removed. Retained for up to 24 months.
• Records we are legally required to keep, such as those needed to resolve a dispute or comply with a legal obligation, for as long as the obligation lasts.

We do not sell personal data, and nothing retained above is used to contact you after your account is deleted.
