EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards ). GS-11 Grade Level: To qualify at the GS-11 level you must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GL-09 grade level serving as a sworn law enforcement officer for a federal, state, county, local or tribal law enforcement department; identifying training program needs and developing/revising training material; instructing classes and conducting practical exercises; and monitoring/evaluating students' performance in the classroom. OR; Education: 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or a L.L.M. in a related field of study. OR; A combination of experience and education that totals 100% of the requirement above. FIREARMS REQUIREMENT: This position requires that the incumbent meet initial and continuing qualifications in the use of firearms as outlined in the Gun Control Act of 1968, amended by the Lautenberg Amendment of 1996.
