About this role

<div style="margin-left: 20px;"><strong>Function:</strong><br id="isPasted">To enforce the law, provide service, information, and aid to all citizens as circumstances require, assist and support victims of crime, prevent crime, suppress disturbances, investigate criminal offenses, and arrest offenders. &nbsp;Serves as a Campus Security Authority as defined by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act).&nbsp;<br><br><strong>Scope:</strong><br>Responsible for law enforcement duties for the protection, safety, and welfare of students, faculty, staff, visitors, and all property under the control and jurisdiction of The University of Texas System, including primary law enforcement jurisdiction in all counties where Lamar University has real property interests and general law enforcement jurisdiction in all other Texas counties. &nbsp;Exercises independent judgment and discretion within the limits prescribed by law, Rules and Regulations of the Board of Regents, institutional rules and regulations, and the Lamar University Police Department's policies and procedures.&nbsp;</div>
