Requirements

<ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Graduate of a medical assisting program at an authorized school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP), the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools, or like agency, and have passed the Medical Assistant Certification exam and maintain a current, valid certification; or</li><li>Certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and licensure through IGEM and maintain a current, valid certification through employment; or</li><li>Successful completion of a Medical Proficiency Training Program as conducted by any branch of the United States Military.
