About This Role
<p data-pasted="true">The King County Sheriff’s Office has an immediate opening at our Advanced Training Section (ATS) for an Integrated Arrest Tactics Coordinator. This position will focus on physical arrest tactics (control, compliance, de-escalation) to prepare deputies for physical demands and suspect control.</p><p>This position reports to the Captain of the Advanced Training Section and operates with a moderate degree of autonomy as a participant in several training teams across a wide range of skill sets. </p><p>These jobs require physical stamina and professional conduct to create realistic, high-pressure situations.<br> </p><strong>WHO MAY APPLY: </strong> this job is only open internally to all King County employees.<br><p><strong>Duties</strong></p><p>The primary duty is to provide instruction on integrated arrest tactics. Such instruction will include concepts surrounding different levels of citizen compliance, different levels of subject resistance, various techniques to obtain control over non-compliant citizens, and proper and lawful application of these concepts. <ul type="disc" style="margin-bottom: 3pt;" data-pasted="true"><li>Either <strong>hold or be willing and eligible to obtain certification through the CJTC Control and Defensive Tactics Program</strong>.</li><li>Able to demonstrate an understanding of both the technical and instructional methods as well as the philosophy theoretical underpinnings that will enhance teaching effective, efficient, and ethical use of force tactics.</li></ul><ul type="disc" style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>WA State CJTC Certified Instructor</li><li>Formal training in defense tactics</li><li>Experience with instruction of de-escalation skills.</li><li>Understanding of and/or experience with KCSO policies, SOPs, procedures, and chain of command.</li><li>Recent experience with Basic Law Enforcement Academy (BLEA) tr
