PART-TIME STATE TROOPER

About this role

Patrols highways and enforces the laws of the state to protect life and property. &nbsp;Limited to part-time Highway Patrol-related duties and responsibilities. May be assigned to specialized Highway Patrol functions including motorcycle patrol, collision and criminal investigations, paramedic duties, community relations, or administration. &nbsp;Performs related duties as assigned.<br><br><strong data-pasted="true">Must successfully complete the Firearms Assessment.</strong>

Requirements

<strong>KNOWLEDGE OF:</strong><br><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>police methods, practices, and procedures.</li><li>departmental rules and regulations.</li><li>federal, state, and local laws governing traffic and crime, search and seizure activities, and the rules of evidence.</li><li>first aid principles and practices.</li><li>conflict management techniques.</li><li>investigative techniques.</li></ol><strong>SKILL IN:</strong><br><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>the operation of a vehicle under normal and/or adverse conditions.</li><li>the use of firearms and related police emergency equipment.</li></ol><strong>ABILITY TO:</strong><br><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>communicate effectively in both written and oral forms, producing accurate, grammatically sound reports and engagin
