<p>Interested in a Law Enforcement Career, but don't have the training that is required to become a sworn law enforcement officer? Join the City of Brevard Police Department as a Police Cadet while attending the Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Program. City of Brevard Police Cadets will be provided with tuition, fees, uniforms and equipment necessary for the academy, along with a Police Cadet salary and full-time employee benefits. </p><p style="margin: 0px 0px 1.15em; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;">Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) is designed to give you the essential skills required for entry-level employment as law enforcement officers with the state, county, municipal governments, or private enterprises. Requirements
<p>Graduation from high school or GED.</p><p>Must possess or be able to obtain a valid North Carolina Driver’s License and complete all required physical and educational requirements of the North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Curriculum.</p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the North Carolina Training and Standards Commission.</li><li>Must be at least Twenty years old by the time of taking the state exam.</li><li>Not have committed or been convicted of:<ul style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>A felony; or</li><li>A crime for which the punishment could have been imprisonment for more than two years; or</li><li>A crime or unlawful act defined as a “Class B misdemeanor” within the five-year period prior to the date of applicatio
