<p>Interested in a Law Enforcement Career, but don't have the training that is required to become a sworn law enforcement officer? Join the City of Brevard Police Department as a Police Cadet while attending the Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Program. &nbsp; City of Brevard Police Cadets will be provided with tuition, fees, uniforms and equipment necessary for the academy, along with a Police Cadet salary and full-time employee benefits. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px 0px 1.15em; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;">Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) is designed to give you the essential skills required for entry-level employment as law enforcement officers with the state, county, municipal governments, or private enterprises. Requirements

<p>Graduation from high school or GED.</p><p>Must possess or be able to obtain a valid North Carolina Driver’s License and complete all required physical and educational requirements of the North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Curriculum.</p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the North Carolina Training and Standards Commission.</li><li>Must be at least Twenty years old by the time of taking the state exam.</li><li>Not have committed or been convicted of:<ul style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>A felony; or</li><li>A crime for which the punishment could have been imprisonment for more than two years; or</li><li>A crime or unlawful act defined as a “Class B misdemeanor” within the five-year period prior to the date of applicatio
