About This Role
Roanoke Fire-EMS, an Internationally Accredited ISO Class 1 Fire-EMS Department, is seeking candidates for the position of Lieutenant/Assistant Fire Marshal. Employees in this classification serve as a fire inspector/investigator for an assigned zone of the City of Roanoke while also supporting fire investigation activities as needed. <br><br>The Assistant Fire Marshals enforce the Statewide Fire Prevention Code, issuing citations and summonses as necessary for enforcement. Assistant Fire Marshals are also responsible for conducting both cause and origin and criminal investigations of fires, explosions, or other incidents.<br><br>Ideal candidates are highly energetic and strongly motivated with a passion for fire prevention and fire investigation activities. Candidates should have fire inspection and investigation experience, but current full-time employees of Roanoke Fire-EMS will be considered without this experience, but will be required to obtain all required certifications to maintain appointment.
