About This Role
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is seeking knowledgeable and experienced law enforcement officers to staff the Major Incident Division (MID). This division was established to perform criminal investigations of critical incidents involving the discharge of a firearm by a peace officer due to a use-of-force encounter.<br><br>Agents conduct criminal investigations and general duty police work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances and the prevention of crime. Performs related duties as assigned. <strong>This job is designated as uncovered.</strong> The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the Director of the Department of Public Safety. <strong>Recruitment may close without notice.</strong>
Requirements
<strong>KNOWLEDGE OF:</strong><br><ol><li>criminal investigations, police methods, practices, and procedures.<li>departmental rules and regulations.<li>federal, state, and local laws governing traffic and crime, search and seizure activities, and the rules of evidence.<li>techniques of interviewing and interrogation. </ol> <br><strong>SKILL IN:</strong><br><ol><li>the operation of a vehicle under normal and/or adverse conditions.<li>the use of firearms and related police emergency equipment.</ol> <br><strong>ABILITY TO:</strong><br><ol><li>prepare clear, accurate, and grammatically correct written reports.<li>maintain composure and work effectively under highly stressful conditions.<li>Analyze situations or information and adopt quick, effective, and reasonable
