About this role

<p style="text-align: justify; transition: all;" data-userway-s19-styled="true" data-text-align-feature-value="4">This is animal control work handling routine or difficult assignments enforcing and promoting a responsible animal ownership program. &nbsp;Work involves investigative and field work enforcing leash laws. &nbsp;This position involves rescuing and containing animals unleashed within the city limits, or animals that have been proven dangerous to the community and may involve work at the Animal Shelter. </p><p data-userway-s19-styled="true" data-text-align-feature-value="4" style="text-align: justify !important; transition: all;"><strong data-userway-s19-styled="true" data-text-align-feature-value="4" data-uw-rm-color-contrast="prs" style="text-align: justify !important; transition: all;">The days and hours:&nbsp;</strong>Shifts are from 7am to 3pm or 2pm to 10pm. Requirements

<ul><li>Knowledge of animals and how to handle them safely<li>Ability to learn, in a reasonable period of time, proper techniques for operating a radio and dispatching personnel and equipment<li>Ability to quickly develop thorough knowledge of leash laws and their application to homeowners<li>Ability to work under adverse environmental conditions, such as exposure to offensive odors and other airborne nuisances, exposure to unsanitary and hazardous material, such as fecal matter and urine, and exposure to other unclean conditions.<li>Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather<li>Ability to handle and lift animals weighing up to&nbsp;50 pounds to a height of three feet and carry them up to 15 feet , and to assist co-workers with larger animals when necessary<li>Ability to chase animals b
