Pay Schedule XIII, Grade 6S, Regular Schedule: 40 hours per week Recruit Employment Bonus    The Sheriff’s Office will award a Hiring Bonus of $6000 for Entry Level Deputy Sheriffs.   The bonus will be paid in three (3) equal payments at the time of hire; after training; and after completion of probationary status. A list of eligible applicants will be established based on the examination as outlined below. You MUST meet the following requirements before you can be hired as a Deputy Sheriff: <ol><li>Be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment;<li>Have a high school diploma, GED, or an appropriate equivalent;<li>Be a citizen of the United States;<li>Have a valid driver's license;<li>Pass the written examination;<li>Pass the physical agility examination; <li>Complete a comprehensive background investigation;<li>Complete a psychological evaluation, polygraph examination and;<li>Pass a physical and medical examination.</ol><st

Requirements

Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent. Licenses and Certifications Possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a non-commercial Class C Maryland driver's license is required at the time of appointment. Age Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment. Character Applicants must be of good moral character and emotionally stable, as determined by a comprehensive background investigation and drug test.
