GIS Crime Analyst

About this role

<div style="text-align: justify;">Performs the following types of crime analysis: tactical, strategic, and intelligence. Performs analytical processes to provide timely and pertinent information regarding crime patterns, crime trends, and crime correlations. Collects, analyzes, presents and disseminates information regarding actual and anticipated criminal activity. Assists department staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of problem-oriented policing projects and current department performance.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>*Note: Submittal of a current resume and an analytic work product that demonstrates ability to query, clean, analyze, and/or present data is encouraged but optional.&nbsp;<br><br>*Additionally, if selected for an interview the process will include completion of an exam.</strong></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>The days and hours for this position: </strong>Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Bargaining Unit: </strong>Employees Council</div><br

Requirements

<ul><li style="text-align: justify;">Must be able to lift/move items such as boxes of files weighing up to 50 pounds<li style="text-align: justify;">Must be able to conceptualize requests for which there are no previously produced solutions or templates to follow.<li style="text-align: justify;">Needs sound judgement to evaluate situations and problems objectively, then make informed decisions.<li style="text-align: justify;">Needs to be a team player by actively listening to coworkers, respecting ideas, and aiming to improve products or processes at hand.<li style="text-align: justify;">Must be able to use a multi-line phone, computer, and other office equipment<li style="text-align: justify;">Requires the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.<li style="text-align:
