About this role

Under the general direction of the Chief of Police and Assistant Chiefs, performs responsible administrative, supervisory and technical work in a bureau or specialized section of the Police Department; does related work as required.<br><strong> </strong><br><strong>Supervision Received: </strong>Under the general direction of the Chief of Police and Assistant Chiefs.<br><strong>Supervision Exercised: </strong>Plans, directs and coordinates all personnel and activities of a bureau or specialized section of the Police Department.

Requirements

<ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.</li><li>Thorough knowledge of the management of police operations and administration, such as community policing.</li><li>Thorough knowledge of controlling laws, ordinances, and department policy, procedure, rules and regulations.</li><li>Skill in the use and care of firearms and in the operation of motor vehicles.</li><li>Ability to plan and organize the performance of a large number of police officers and civilian personnel.</li><li>Ability to behave in a positive and fair manner in order to gain and maintain the confidence, support, cooperation and satisfaction of the community.</li><li>Ability to plan and coordinate the Department’s response to major events/incidents. ?Ability to analyze situ
