About this role

Under limited supervision, a Senior Park Ranger is responsible for overseeing field activities for Park Rangers during their assigned shift. The incumbent should be comfortable leading briefings, conducting training, writing reports, and reviewing the work of Park Rangers on shift. A successful candidate should be able to multitask, have time management skills, and have strong verbal and written communication skills. A Senior Park Ranger will maintain cooperative working relationships with internal departments as well as outside agencies. This position will be required to work some nights, weekends, and holidays and<strong>&nbsp;must be able to work up to 32 hours a week</strong>.<br><strong><br>This position operates seven (7) days per week, including weekends and holidays.</strong><br><br>Employees are assigned to a primary shift upon hire. While staff are generally scheduled within their assigned shift, work schedules, days, and hours may be adjusted based on operational needs, including City events, special assignments, staffing needs, training, and other program requirements. <u>Experience:</u> A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a City of Anaheim Park Ranger. An equivalent combination of experience and training sufficient to perform the essential job functions and provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying.<br><br><u>Ability to:</u><br><br>•Lead and instruct others; give directions, plan, schedule, assign, and oversee activities of Park Ranger personnel.<br>•Conduct patrol briefings and direct field operations.<br>•Interpret and apply relevant regulations, policies, ordinances, and procedures.<br>•Maintain attendance and observe scheduled work hours.<br>•Safely follow directions; take appropriate courses of action in emergencies; exercise tact, self-restraint, and good judgment in stressful encounters<br>&nbsp; and situations.<br>•In
