<div style="text-align: left;"><strong><strong id="isPasted">About the Job: </strong>Community Service Officer II (CSO II)</strong></div><span style="color: black;">The Community Service Officer positions (CSO) are assigned to the Colorado Springs Police Department substations. CSOs operate in the field wearing a CSO uniform and driving a marked white and green “Community Service” cruiser. CSOs spend a large portion of their day in their vehicle and get in and out of the vehicle often. CSOs are dispatched to cold property crimes where the suspect is unknown. When conducting the investigation, CSOs interview victims and witnesses, process the crime scene, collect evidence, and complete thoroughly written police reports. This position also responds to traffic accidents to assist police officers and detectives by handing out and explaining driver statement forms, taking photos, conducting traffic control (this may include standing in the roadway to direct traffic, and it may be necessary to quickly move out of the way of an oncoming vehicle), and clearing the scene by requesting tow services for disabled vehicles.
