About this role
<p><strong>Coordinate with the owners of commercial or industrial and residential buildings or related structures to ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Work with the general public, developers, contractors and attorneys to resolve issues related to code compliance. Investigate, prepare and present cases to City Council, as well as act as a non-attorney prosecutor in a court of competent jurisdiction. Act as witness in attorney prosecuted building code violation cases and civil litigation cases. </strong><br><br><em>Job descriptions are intended to present a general list of tasks/duties performed by employees within this job classification. Requirements
High School Diploma or GED; <em><strong>and </strong></em><br><br>Eight (8) years of experience in building inspections or construction of commercial or industrial and residential buildings or related structures; <em><strong>and </strong></em><br><br><strong>To include</strong> three (3) years of supervisory experience. <br><br><strong><em><u>Education is interchangeable as follows: </u></em></strong><strong><em> a maximum of two (2) of the eight (8) years experience required may be substituted by 60 credit hours of building inspections or construction field curriculum from an accredited college or technical school.</em></strong><br><br><br><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br><br>Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License.<br>Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) wit
