About this role
The Fire Marshal is an integral member of the Executive Command Staff and reports directly to the Fire Chief. This position leads, plans, directs, and participates in fire prevention, public education, and fire and arson investigation programs. The Fire Marshal develops and implements budgets, policies, procedures, and programs to effectively manage the Fire Marshal's Office.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Fire Administration, Public Administration, or a related field and a minimum of six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in fire suppression, fire prevention, including at least two (3) years in a supervisory capacity in fire prevention; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.<br><br><strong><u>Minimum Required Licenses and Certifications</u></strong><br><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Valid Texas driver's license.</li><li>Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Intermediate Fire Inspector certification.</li><li>Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Intermediate Fire and Arson Investigator cer
