<p data-pasted="true">The City of Brevard Police Department is seeking <strong>Part-Time Police Officers</strong> to help cover patrol shifts and assist with special events. This is an as-needed position with hours scheduled based on departmental need and officer availability.</p><p>Position Summary<br>This position performs a full range of general law enforcement duties designed to partner with the public to prevent and detect crime, address traffic safety issues, and respond to the needs of citizens. Work includes patrolling the City during an assigned rotating shift in a police car or on foot; preventing, detecting, and investigating disturbances and crime; performing traffic control work; apprehending suspects; and executing related assignments.</p>

Requirements

<p data-pasted="true">Possession of a Basic Law Enforcement Certificate and ablility to become certified as a law enforcement officer through the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission</p><p>&nbsp;<u>Special Requirements:</u>&nbsp; Before assignment to sworn duties, employees must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license and have completed at least the minimum requirements established by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission for certified law enforcement officers.&nbsp;</p><p>Applicants extended a conditional offer of employment for this position will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background investigation, drug screening, fingerprint-based background check, and other requirements s
