The Police Sergeant supports the Shift Supervisor by directing operations in their absence, mentoring junior officers, and assisting with officer orientation and training. The role requires strong leadership, decision-making skills, and a commitment to community-oriented policing.</p><p><strong>Minimum Salary: $62,279 negotiable dependent on qualifications. <br></strong>Incentives offered for Associates, Bachelors, and Masters Degree, Advanced and Intermediate Law Enforcement Certificates, and Bilingual Proficiency.<br
Requirements
<p data-pasted="true"><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p><ul type="disc" style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>High School Diploma or GED. </li><li>3 years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience. </li><li>Current North Carolina Law Enforcement Officer Certification.</li><li>Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul type="disc" style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field preferred.</li><li>5 years of progressive law enforcement experience.</li><li>Previous supervisory experience preferred.</li><li>Preferred certifications in radar, breathalyzer operations, first line supervisor school, Police Law Institute, and Field Training Officer. </li></ul>
