POOL MONITOR

About This Role

<p style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:0in;">POOL MONITOR</p><p style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:0in;">This position may require working a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends. Must be able to work other than normal hours and be available to work as scheduled based upon the needs of the department. May be required to work in outdoor elements such as sun, heat and rain. Responsible for observing participant behaviors inside pool area and surrounding area recognizing escalating individuals and groups of individuals, evaluating and interceding as needed including calling 911 to maintain a safe environment for participants and staff. Assists pool staff with Department of Recreation rules enforcement. Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) or Private Security Training Certification preferred. May be required to assist gate monitor with customer service, revenue collection and gate admittance procedures. Walks the pool deck and communicates effectively with pool patrons and staff. Must have current or be able to pass American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer / AED and First Aid

Requirements

<p>Must be 18 years of age or older. </p><p>Previous security experience preferred. </p><p>Must be able to obtain Department required CPR and First Aid Training, American Red Cross CPR/PR/AED, Bloodborne, and First Aid certifications.</p><p> Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred.</p><p><strong>OTHER REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><p>Unexpired certifications must be maintained as part of employment </p><p>Must wear assigned Department of Recreation staff uniform and maintain a clean appearance and positive demeanor. </p><p>Must be willing to take direction from supervisors and managers. </p><p>Must follow Department of Recreation rules, regulations and guidelines, especially those relating to safety and customer service.</p><p> This position may require working a flexible schedule
