About This Role
<p style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:0in;" id="isPasted"><strong>This is a volunteer program</strong>—the Explorer Program gives youth (ages 14-20) a chance to learn about law enforcement, develop leadership skills, and become more involved in the community.</p><p style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:0in;" id="isPasted">Explorers will learn about the different areas/divisions of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office: patrol, jail, detectives, civil, and other areas of law enforcement.</p>Explorers will also gain skills and may compete in state-wide competitions in the following areas:<br><ul style="font-style: normal; text-indent: 0px; text-decoration: none; margin: 0px 0px 3pt; padding: 0px 0px 0px 2em; color: inherit; text-align: left;"><li style="margin-bottom: 0.35em; font-style: normal;">Arrest control</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0.35em; font-style: normal;">CPR/first aid</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0.35em; font-style: normal;">Crime scene investigation</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0.35em; font-style: normal;">Criminal code</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0.35em; font-style: normal;">Domestic crisis</li><li
Requirements
<p style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:0in;" id="isPasted">To be considered for an Explorer position:</p><ul class="decimal_type" style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Must be between 14-20 years of age.</li><li>Currently enrolled in school with a minimum 2.0 GPA.</li><li>Must be a US Citizen</li><li>No felony convictions.</li></ul>
