<strong data-pasted="true"><span style=" color: inherit;">Qualified lateral candidates starting annual wage will be either $101,417.28 (Step 3) or $109,139.16 (Step 4) depending on the qualifications as listed below (language from the Deputy Sheriff's Association Collective Bargaining Agreement)</span></strong><br><br><p style=" margin: 2pt 0in;"><strong style=" font-weight: 700;"><span style=" color: inherit;">1. &nbsp;Lateral transfer employees with two (2) or fewer years of service as a peace officer will be hired at Step 3 of the pay range.&nbsp;</span></strong></p><br><p style=" margin: 2pt 0in;"><strong style=" font-weight: 700;"><span style=" color: inherit;">2. &nbsp;Lateral transfer employees with more than two (2) years of service as a peace officer will be hired at Step 4 of the pay range.&nbsp;</span></strong></p><br><p style=" margin: 0in;"><strong style=" font-weight: 700;"><span style=" color: inherit;">There are moving reimbursements available for lateral transfer employees as well. Requirements

<u>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</u><br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate. &nbsp; An Associate of Arts degree or 90 credits of college level course work including courses in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a closely related field is preferred. &nbsp;Must be a United States citizen, a lawful permanent resident, or a deferred action for childhood arrival (DACA) recipient as per RCW 41.14.100. &nbsp;Candidates must be at least twenty (20) years old at time of application, no maximum age.
