Bailiff - Municipal Court

About this role

The City of Midland is looking for a dedicated and professional Municipal Court Security Officer to help ensure the safety, order, and integrity of our court operations. Reporting to the Presiding Municipal Judge, you’ll be on the front line of courtroom security, monitoring holding cells and cameras, managing access, and supporting judges and staff during daily proceedings.<br>This role goes beyond just security. Requirements

May be exposed to possibly dangerous criminals on a daily basis. May be exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals and diseases. Must have the ability to work in seasonal temperatures. Sufficient physical strength and stamina to bend, run, lift and crawl into small spaces and to restrain suspects.<br /><br />Ability to effectively communicate with the Presiding Judge, Associate Judges, Court Administrator, Municipal Court staff, citizens, attorneys and other law enforcement agencies to exchange information and ensure Court security. Ability to effectively communicate well with the general public to answer questions, take complaints, and assist as needed. Exceptional skill required handling citizens in delicate situations with tact and diplomacy both on the phone and in person.A high school
